Ursula Wittrock, age 76 of Sioux Falls, formerly of Milbank, passed away on June 20, 2021.

Ursula Ann Wittrock was a loving wife, mom, and “Gramcracker”. She cherished her family above all else, including the many people she considered family. One couldn’t help but be captivated by her servant heart and devotion to caring for others. She was a perfect mix of cheerful spunk and sass. She will forever be remembered for these qualities, but her vivacious personality and fearlessly telling you exactly what was on her mind are what will make people smile in remembrance.

Ursie peacefully passed away on June 20, 2021, surrounded by her family as she was welcomed home into the loving arms of Jesus. She was born on May 12, 1945, in Milbank, South Dakota to John and Ursula Flack. In 1966, she married Howard Roth with whom she shared her beloved children, a daughter, Dawn, and son, Howard. She was later joined in matrimony to Walt Wittrock.

Not only did Ursie have a special place in her heart for her many friends and family, but she also loved animals and had an amazing green thumb. Her hands were never still, and she loved Bingo, Mahjong, puzzles, and watching her shows. Her holiday displays were second to none and served as a great backdrop for the nightly calls which her friends and family will so desperately miss.

Ursula is survived by her children: Dawn (Doug) Borchert of Sioux Falls, SD; and Howard (Amy) Roth of Overton, NE; grandchildren: Megan, Emily, Andrew, Nicholas, and Mathew; great- grandson, Zane; brother, Greg (Diane) Flack of Vermillion, SD; and sister, Linda Wellnitz of Milbank, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Don (Margaret) Purinton, Jill (Don) Wellnitz, Jackie (Harvey) Angerhofer, and Toni Darby.

The family would like to thank Pioneer Memorial Hospital for the loving care and comfort they provided Ursie and her family during their time in Viborg, SD.

Ursie will be greatly missed, but as the Irish saying goes: “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal”. Those that loved Ursie will feel the benefit of knowing her forever, and with that remembering, they will retain a little of the vibrancy and sparkle she left behind.
