Steve Price, age 68, of Fullerton, NE, formerly of Milbank, SD, died on October 30, 2020, at Fullerton Care and Rehabilitation Center.

A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, at Parkview Methodist Church in Milbank, SD.  Rev. Barbara McKewin will officiate, and burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Brookings, SD, on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.  A visitation, open to the public, will be held on Thursday, November 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Parkview Methodist Church.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is recommended, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean.

Steven Kenneth Price was born on November, 21, 1951, to Kenneth and Fern (Thorton) Price in Brookings, SD. He attended school in Milbank and graduated with the Class of 1971. He went to work at the cheese factory in Big Stone City, SD. Steve completed training for custodial and building maintenance in St. Paul, MN, and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, Ne.

Steve enjoyed playing football in high school and was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and doing outdoor activities with his father and brother. Steve and his dad, Kenneth, had a special relationship and the two bonded closely after the death of his mother, Fern.

While Steve was living in the nursing home, he became friends with nurses, nursing assistants, and other staff. He would play cards and games with them every chance he had. Steve was a warm and welcoming man with his nickname, “Sunshine” following him from his high school days.

Steve leaves behind his brother, Craig (Sheryl) Price of Willmar, MN; nieces and nephews: Zach Price, Ethan Price, Charlie Price, Joe Price, Mike Price, Heather (Doug) Eastman, Kris (Chad) Engebretson, and Erick (Kerry) Klepel; brother-in-law, Marlowe Klepel; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and sister, Judy Klepel.
