Stanley Street

Stanley E. Street, age 91, of Milbank, formerly of Revillo, died December 8, 2019, at the Milbank Area Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at the Revillo Cemetery in Revillo, SD. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Stanley Edward Street was born on January 17, 1928, in Milbank, SD, to Edward J. and Irma B. (Cahill) Street. He attended school at Adams #3 grade school and attended Revillo High School until his father passed away and he began farming full time, at age  17.

On June 15, 1949, Stanley was united in marriage with Delores Jensen at Nassau Congregational Church. Stanley was an active member of American Lutheran Church in Milbank.

Stanley farmed all his life “and had a good time doing it!” He enjoyed ‘going for rides’ and checking out the fields in the morning, then taking Delores with him and going again in the evening. He served on the Adams #3 school board, and on the Board of the Revillo Housing Association.  Stanley loved going for coffee and joining various coffee groups at Trevett’s Cafe, the Millstone, and Hardee’s.

Stanley greatly enjoyed being at the lake and learning to water ski. He owned a cabin at Lake Cochran for many years, where he water-skied until age 85. He taught many relatives, friends, and neighbors how to water-ski.

Stanley Street is survived by his wife Delores of Milbank; children: Susan (Larry) Wagner of Ridgeland, WI; Margaret Sawyer of Lakewood, CO; Emily Tollefson of Owatonna, MN; Edward (Jennifer) Street of Albuquerque, NM; Richard Street of Cottondale, AL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson; and brother-in-law, Wayne (Margaret) Jensen.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Barbara Erickson; and brother, Franklin Street.
