Ruth Ann Thaden was born on April 18, 1941, in Milbank, SD.  She was the daughter of Theodore and Grace (Hippen) Thaden, and the twin sister of Ronald. Ruth grew up on the family farm near Twin Brooks, SD. She attended rural school at Kilborn #2 through the eighth grade, then attended Milbank High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. Immediately following her education, Ruth started working at Dakota State Bank in Milbank. She moved to Sioux Falls, SD, in 1970 and was employed with US Bank until retirement. She resided in Sioux Falls until moving to Park Place Assisted Living in Brookings, SD, in 2019.

Ruth was a very giving person of both of her time and her talents. She volunteered at her church and at the office of the Sioux Falls Seminary. She helped drive her friends to appointments, shopping, and enjoying the events at the Washington Pavilion while living in Sioux Falls.

Ruth was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot, SD, then joined the Sioux Falls congregation in 1975. The 23rd Psalm was a cherished scripture. Ruth adored her family, her niece, and her nephews. Each one was very special to her, especially her twin, Ron’s children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers: Gerald (Darlene) Thaden of Marvin, SD; Harold (Paula) Thaden of Wilmot, SD; and Ronald (Linda) Thaden of Brookings, SD; niece, Jane (Steve) Lawson, of Baltic, SD; nephews: Scott (Kristen) Thaden of Willmar, MN; Thomas Thaden of Brookings, SD; and Rodney (Rebecca) Thaden of Twin Brooks, SD; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
