Rosella Geloris Naeve was born on December 17, 1929, in Hendricks, MN. She was the daughter of Edward and Lila (Olson) Lunden.  She was baptized and confirmed at Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt, SD. She graduated from Astoria High School in 1948 and attended General Beadle College in Madison, SD.  She married Werner Naeve on March 1, 1949. Together they raised three sons and two daughters.  Rosella and Werner lived in Astoria, SD, and Albee, SD, before moving to Milbank, SD, in 1956.  In 2017, Rosella moved to Watertown, SD, to be closer to her daughter.

Rosella was a devoted wife and mother who spent countless hours in her kitchen.  She loved to cook, bake and can fruits and vegetables which she eagerly shared with her friends and neighbors.  Those who stopped by her home were often invited in for coffee and a plate full of her homemade goodies.  She and Werner loved to entertain and enjoyed many years traveling the United States in their camper.  They both took great pride and joy when all five of their children earned college degrees.

Rosella is survived by her five children: Dr. Clayton (Deanna) Naeve of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Jim Naeve (Lynn Moran) of Renton, WA; Judy Wolff (Doug Hilmoe) of Watertown, SD; Roger Naeve (Denise Cavanaugh) of Bedford, TX; and Lynnita (Ryan) Schmidt of Mankato, MN; six grandchildren: Christopher and Katie Naeve, Matthew (Kari) Wolff, Kelsey (Aaron) Escher, Carson and Tyler Schmidt; and two great-grandchildren: Calvin and Cora Wolff; a sister-in-law, Esther Krause of Clear Lake, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
