Peggy Newman, age 65, died on March 26, 2020, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.

Private family services will be held at Mundwiler Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2020, and burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, SD. We must adhere to the CDC and Milbank City official recommendations for public gatherings (10 persons or less in the building at a time).

Peggy Ann (Wolf) Newman was born on September 28, 1954, in Ellendale, ND, to Oscar and Erma (Brandenburger) Wolf. She was baptized at St. Peter's Church in Leonard, ND, on January 2, 1955. She attended school and graduated in 1972. After high school, Peggy attended one year of college for Fashion Design.

On August 21, 1976, Peggy was united in marriage to Doug Newman. To this union, three children were born. The family made their home in the Milbank area. Peggy worked as an underwriter at Milbank Insurance Company from 1976 to 1995. In 1995, she opened her own insurance agency, Newman Insurance, and worked until her death.

In 2005, Peggy opened a bed and breakfast in Graceville called "Wolf House". After retirement, she stayed busy running the bed and breakfast, as well as, working as a cook at the local nursing home.  She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank.

Peggy loved to read and play cards with her friends. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family at the cabin on Lake Traverse. Peggy adored her children and grandchildren and was very proud of all of them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jeremy (Marcie) Newman of Colorado Springs, CO; Jason (Krista) Newman of Wheaton, MN; and Jill Rethke of Watertown, SD; grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Graham, Olivia, Isobel, Penny, Damien, Ryker, and Christian; and brothers: Duane (Marcy) Wolf of Leola, SD; and Jim (Gwen) Wolf of Leola, SD.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Erma in 1987 and Oscar in 1995.
