Nikki Rae Rabe, age 68, of Big Stone City, SD, passed away on March 7, 2021.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Tabor United Methodist Church in Big Stone City, SD. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. A prayer service will start at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Barbara McKewin will officiate, and burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is required , and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming will be viewable at the bottom of this page.

Nikki Rae Duhr was born on August 3, 1952, in Ortonville, MN. She was the daughter of Verlin “Dobby” Duhr and Edell (Kristiansen). She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. She attended school in Clinton, graduating with the Class of 1970. After graduation, she attended Anoka Technical College.

On September 30, 1972, Nikki was united in marriage with Timothy Rabe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Together they were blessed with 48 years of marriage and three children: Kelly, TJ, and Chris. They resided in rural Big Stone City, SD.

Nikki worked for Strong Insurance for 26 years and later stayed busy working various office positions. She retired in 2018 at the age of 66.

Nikki loved her tightly knit family. She enjoyed traveling. She and Tim had many memorable trips; Alaska and New Orleans during Mardi Gras were highlights. Her family will cherish the vacations to Mexico, the Black Hills, and numerous camping trips. She adored her grandchildren and would always make sure to attend every event or ballgame she could.

Summertime was her favorite time of year. She enjoyed boating and swimming. She loved her time spent on her patio, enjoying her yard art. She took pride in keeping her home and yard in pristine condition. She enjoyed reading and shopping in her free time. She cherished her Saturday coffee hour at the Cottage Inn Café.

Nikki is survived by her husband, Tim Rabe of Big Stone City, SD; children: Kelly (Redgey) Rademacher of Big Stone City, SD; TJ (Andria) Rabe of Big Stone City, SD; Chris (Megan) Rabe of Big Stone City, SD; sisters: Janet Grebin of Sioux Falls, SD; and Karen Hagen of Clinton, MN; brother, Brad (Pat) Duhr of Cass Lake, MN; nine grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Dylan, Aiden, Chloe, Hattie, Reese, Brady, Leighton, and Blake; brothers-in-law: Ron (Narvilla) Rabe of Omaha, NE; and David (Linda) Rabe of Altoona, IA; and sister-in-law, Jane (LaMont) Pratschner of Fargo, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Steve and Karl; and parents-in-law.
