Margaret Klein, age 104, of Graceville, MN, died on April 26, at Grace Home in Graceville.

Private family services will be held, and burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Beardsley, MN.

Margaret Mary Van Hale was born in Beardsley, Big Stone County, MN, on May 15, 1915, to Anna (Hendricks) and Tony Van Hale. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beardsley. She married Andrew Klein and to this union two daughters were born: Judy and Susan.

Margaret worked ironing clothes for $1 per bag and sold Avon products for 21 years. She enjoyed visiting with all the ladies on her Avon route!

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beardsley and a lifetime member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed being a wife and mother, and especially relished being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Margaret’s hobby was quilting; she made beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also made quilts for friends and Grace Home raffles. Each quilt was made with lots of love. Her quilts will hold special memories for everyone.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Susan Hoffman of Mulvane, KS; grandchildren: Craig Lesmeister of Morris, MN; Mike Lesmeister of Elk Horn, NE; Mark (Vanetta )Hedrick of Mulvane, KS; Matt (Melissa) Hedrick of China Springs, TX; Joey (Jackie) Wilt of Dumont, MN; Jolene (Jay) Hammer of Gardner, ND; step-grandchildren: Wayne (Jean) Lesmeister of Morris, MN; Deb Lesmeister of Foley, MN; Audrey (Dale) McCarthy of McIntire, IA; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Francis Miller of Browns Valley, MN; son-in-law, Larry Wilt of Dumont, MN; and nieces: Shirley Wood of CA; and Karen Skoog of Hibbing, MN.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andy; daughter, Judy Wilt; sons-in-law: Richard Hoffman and Mark Hedrick, Sr.; one grandson; brothers: Martin Van Hale and George Van Hale.
