Joel Reil, age 67, of Rapid City, SD, died on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, from recent health complications.
A graveside service will be held for Joel at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19, at Kilborn Cemetery, near Corona, SD.
Joel Jim Reil was born on September 2, 1954, in Milbank, SD, to Jim and Marlene (Steinberg) Reil. Joel grew up on the family farm near Corona. He attended a country school near Corona and graduated from Milbank High School.
Following high school, Joel worked in Scottsbluff, NE. He moved to Rapid City, SD, in 1979. Joel has worked at the gun counter at Cabela’s in Rapid City from 2008 to the present time.
Joel enjoyed outside activities including hunting, fishing, and trapping. His favorite pursuit was goose hunting. He also enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
Joel is survived by his children: Niki (Les) Rettke of Savage, MT; Chris Reil of Rapid City, SD; grandsons: Logan and Casey Rettke; sisters: Korrine (Chuck) Reiffenberger of Brandon, SD; Barbara (Tom) Iverson of Big Stone City, SD; brother Jess (Kathleen) Reil of Corona, SD; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine Reil, and several aunts and uncles.
