Gladys Miller

Gladys Miller, age 89, of Wilmot, SD, passed away on November 6, 2020, at Wilmot Care Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at Wilmot City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at  Mundwiler Funeral Home- Faith Chapel in Wilmot.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean.

Gladys Jean Thielmann Miller was born on September 6, 1931, in Wilmot, SD.  She was the daughter of Otto and Bertha (Minder) Thielmann.  She attended rural school at Lake Township #3 and graduated from Wilmot High School with the Class of 1949. Gladys was employed at the Federal Farm Office in Sisseton, SD, until 1957. She was united in marriage with Charles Miller on March 21, 1957, in Wilmot.  Following her marriage, Gladys worked as a typesetter and proof reader at Wilmot Enterprise for many years.  She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Milbank and taught Sunday School for many years.

Chuck and Gladys always enjoyed attending the Wilmot School activities. They were loyal Minnesota Twins and Vikings fans.  She and Charles enjoyed traveling and visited 48 states and Canada.

Gladys is survived by her sister, Arlene Hansen of Watertown, SD; nieces and nephews: Vicki Cobb, Candace Gravetter, Jane Chandler, Steven Chamley, Carolyn Hansen, and Rodney Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Bertha; husband, Chuck; sister, Eunice Chamley; nephew, Harlan Hansen; great-niece, Whitney Rose Gravetter; and great nephew, Timothy Cobb.
