Donald L. Schneck was born in Milbank on October 13, 1946, to Carl and Elsie (Gustafson) Schneck. He was baptized at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank where he was a life-long member.
In his younger years Don farmed near Twin Brooks and was employed by several area farms. For health reasons, he moved to Milbank in 1980. He was very proud about keeping up his yard. He enjoyed mowing on the riding mower (even if the lawn did not need it). Don liked to go fishing with his nephew, Derrick. He was a faithful member, with his sister Carol, of his Tuesday night Pinochle group. The highlights of his week were the card drawings at the Milbank VFW and the Big Stone Legion.
Don is survived by his sister, Carol Nicholson of Milbank; brother, Harold Schneck of Mandan, ND; sister-in-law Lavonne, Schneck; nephew, Derrick (Joett) Nicholson of Milbank; great nephew, Sean; and great-niece, Morgan; other nieces and nephews: Becky Rittenbach, Barbara Polkinghorne, Sandra Konshak, Sherry Norbeck, Tony Schneck, Keith Schneck, and Gary Schneck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harlow and Victor Schneck; and nephew, Wayne Schneck.
Don’s family would like to extend their thanks for the great care that he received from the staff at Avantara nursing home.
