Deloris Brede

Deloris T. Brede, age 77, of Big Stone City, SD, died on May 17, 2019, at Ortonville Area Health Services in Ortonville, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Big Stone City, SD.

Deloris Theresa Sellner was born on May 19, 1941, in Sleepy Eye, MN, to Walter and Mathilda (Rosenstengel) Sellner. She grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. Deloris met Delbert Brede in New Ulm, MN, and they were married on August 9, 1961, in Stewart, MN.

Deloris had many jobs, in addition to, helping Delbert on the farm near Big Stone City, SD; she was a painter, worked at St. William’s Nursing Home, Super 8 Hotel, and most recently as a CNA at the Ortonville Nursing Home. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank.

Deloris loved to travel with Delbert. She enjoyed quilting, growing and canning vegetables, flower gardening, and tending a large strawberry patch.

Deloris is survived by her husband, Delbert of Big Stone City, SD; sons: Delbert (Tyan) Brede, Jr. of Ceylon, MN; and Delano (Twyla) Brede of Bagley, IA; daughter, Debbie Jonescheit of Liberty, MO; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy (Stan) Painter, Helen (Roy) Janni, Rose Groebner, Arlene (Frank) Matter, Kathy Platz, and Donna (Ron) Soukup; brother, Walter (Carol) Sellner, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Denise Sellner, and Nina Skalberg; and many nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Mathilda; sister, Rita Sellner; and brother, Wilbert Sellner.
