Delores Kelly

Delores Kelly, age 63, died Thursday, November 4, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Milbank. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Delores (Marohl) Kelly was born on August 7, 1958, in Ortonville, MN, to Elmer and Anna (Loeschke) Marohl. She grew up in Big Stone City and Twin Brooks, attending rural elementary school in Twin Brooks. Delores graduated from Milbank High School in 1977. Delores married Cody Kelly on August 5, 1989, a Bethlehem Lutheran Church, near Milbank.

Delores lived in the Milbank area her entire life. She worked for Flanery Foods for several years, and most recently was employed for over thirty years by United Hardware in Milbank. She was a life-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, being baptized in 1958, confirmed in 1972, and married in 1989. She was a member of the church Ladies Aide for many years.

Delores was an active member in the Milbank area cancer fundraiser “It Only Takes a Spark”. She was a member of the United Hardware team, “United Pride”, participating for many years with her friends and co-workers. She was a 4-H alumna and supported the organization by becoming a 4-H leader. She was happy to be able to help her grandson with his 4-H projects.

Delores had a green thumb and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She looked forward to reading when she had time, and she cherished her time hanging out with her grandchildren.

Delores Kelly is survived by her husband, Cody of Milbank; daughter, Katrina (Mitchel) King of Milbank; sons: Andy (Sidonia) Kelly of Fargo, ND; Wyatt Kelly of Fargo, ND; brothers: Clemens (Kaye) Marohl of Appleton, MN: Clifford Marohl of Aberdeen, SD; Eugene (Julie) Marohl of Watson, MN; sister, Gloria (Loren) Koopman of Milbank, SD; and grandchildren: Anakin and Aurora.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents.
