Dale Nyreen, Jr., age 59, of Corona, SD, succumbed to his battle with cancer on September 11, 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Corona Community Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Reverend Kent Groethe will officiate the service and burial will be at Milbank City Cemetery at a later date.
Dale Edwin Nyreen, Jr. was born on July 19, 1960, in Sioux City, IA, to Dale Sr. and Gloria (Delap) Nyreen. He attended school until 11th grade and later completed his General Education Degree.
The Johnny Cash song, “I’ve Been Everywhere” is appropriate because Dale lived in and traveled to many different places. He lived in Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Oregon, and finally settled in South Dakota. Dale also visited many more places and states while he was working as a truck driver hauling all over the United States.
On August 14, 1996, Dale was united in marriage to Mary Ethel Hoback in Beresford, SD. The two combined their families and made one large, wonderful, family he took pride in.
No matter where Dale worked, he worked hard. He worked in factories, as a farmer, as a truck driver, and as a karaoke disc jockey. Dale organized charity benefits, including cancer benefits in the community. He was an all-around good guy and anyone who knew him could tell that about him.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Nyreen; children: Robin Nyreen-Burleson (Dave Burleson), Nickolas Nyreen (Renee Vaiora), Peter Nyreen (Elif Nyreen), Joanna Nyreen, Joshua D. Larson (Agnieszka Kubas), Misty L. Larson, Jeremy J. Larson (Patti Murray), and Dan L. Larson (Courtney Larson); grandchildren: Joshua Henderson, Dion Henderson, Alexis Nyreen, Joseph Cummings, Micah Cummings, Zoey Henderson, Alayna Henderson, Grace Henderson, X’Zander Harmon, and Lucas Larson; sisters: Norma Hanson, Jenny Nyreen, and Susan Nelson; brothers: Chuck Nyreen and Guy Larsen; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
