Cathy Glomstad

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. and the Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. at the church in Milbank. Burial will be at LaBolt Cemetery in LaBolt, SD.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming will be viewable at www.mundwilerfuneralhome.net.

Catharine Mary Ahartz was born on March 7, 1923, in Yankton, SD, to Charles and Mary (Tschacher) Ahartz. She attended St. Anthony School in Omaha, NE. She lived in Chicago briefly, then moved to Milbank. Cathy married Russell Glomstad on September 29, 1954. Cathy and Russell lived on the Glomstad family farm near LaBolt, SD, where they raised their two children, Jim and Mary Ann.

Cathy was a homemaker and a farm wife, and also worked at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Milbank for many years. She enjoyed attending Mass at Blue Cloud Abbey, and more recently was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank.

Cathy enjoyed Bingo and having coffee with her friends. She was a happy, busy person, and always on the go.

Cathy is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Erwin) Johnson of Aberdeen, SD; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Glomstad; son, Jim Glomstad; brothers: Nick and Andy Ahartz; and sister Dorothy Ahartz.
