Betty Nelson, age 91 of Clinton, MN, passed away on April 1, 2020, at Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge, MN.

Betty Lou (Henrichs) Nelson was born in Moonshine Township, Big Stone County, MN, on April 24, 1928.  She was the daughter of August and Cora Henrichs.  Betty was baptized at Bethany Church in rural Clinton, confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton, and graduated from Clinton High School. Betty retired from the Clinton Post Office after over 30 years of service to spend time with what she loved the most.

Her faith family and friends were her greatest joys in her life. She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty loved playing bridge with her friends, gardening, fishing, bowling, spending time at the cabin, and making quilts. She also served on the Trinity Lutheran Church council, the board of the Clinton Care Center, and a member of the Clinton Auxillary for 66 years.

She joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1948 before marrying Ted Nelson on September 1, 1948. They were able to celebrate 53 years of marriage before Ted passed in 2001.  To that union, they had four children, RaNae, Perry, Cindy and Gary.

Betty is survived by daughter, Cindy (Don) Follmer, Maplewood, MN; grandchildren: Bryan (Tammy Firchau) Nelson; Cullen (Michelle) Nelson; Sara (James Wilson) Blaufuss; Elisa (Matt) Pomianek; Kristopher (Rebekah) Follmer and Kayla (Luke) McClanahan.  Great grandchildren: Kendra and Riley Nelson, Olivia and Codi Nelson, Landon, Erin and Kendall Blaufuss, Lauren Berg, Grant and Harper Pomianek, and Berend, Mara and Solvej Follmer. Sister, Mavis Steen, brothers and sisters-in-laws Harold and Aggie Nelson, David and Janet Nelson and Lorraine Nelson plus many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Ted, daughter, RaNae Nelson, son and daughter-in-law Perry (Barb) Nelson and son, Gary Nelson, her parents, August and Cora Henrichs, brother, Donald Henrichs, father- and mother-in-law, Benny and Anna Nelson, brothers-in-laws, Stewart Steen, Donald Nelson, Arlan Nelson, Oscar Jacobson and sister-in-law, Stella Jacobson.
