Todd M. Bucholz

Todd Bucholz, age 62, of Ortonville, MN, formerly of Big Stone City, SD, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Ortonville Area Health Services Hospital.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home Chapel in Ortonville, MN. Rev. Chris Davis will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Todd Michael Bucholz was born on August 29, 1963, in Ortonville, MN, to Donald and Donna (Bogenreif) Bucholz. Todd grew up between Big Stone City, SD, and North Dakota. He graduated from Langford High School in Langford, SD in 1981.

A proud veteran, Todd honorably served in the United States Air Force, embodying a spirit of dedication and resilience that he carried throughout his life. After his service, he became a skilled bridge builder, a profession that reflected his desire to connect people and places.

Todd’s passions extended beyond his work; he found great joy in the great outdoors, particularly through fishing and hunting. His love for nature was only rivaled by his appreciation for music, which often accompanied him on his cruises. Those who knew him well cherished his unique sense of humor and the warmth he brought to every gathering. He found solace in the simple pleasures of life, like his morning coffee drives and sharing laughter and stories with his friends and family that will forever be remembered.

Todd leaves behind his beloved daughter, Mical Bucholz; two grandchildren: Jameson and Bodhi; brothers: Steven Bucholz, Joe Bucholz, Brett Bucholz, and Marty Bucholz; sister, Rhonda Duffy; 12 nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends and family who will miss him dearly. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to connect with him.

Preceding him in death were his father, Don Bucholz; mother, Donna (Bogenreif) Aggen; and his soulmate, Rebecca Mattison.
