Stephen Cramer

Stephen Cramer, age 55, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Ortonville Area Health Services Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Rev. Timothy Koch will officiate the service and interment will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.

Stephen Loras Cramer was born on July 13, 1966, at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy, WI, to Lawrence “Larry” and Della (Thiele) Cramer. He was baptized at St. Adalbert Church in Milwaukee, WI, on September 4, 1966. Stephen attended school in the Milbank area and graduated from Milbank High School with the Class of 1985. Following high school, he went to Minnesota West Technical College for Meat Cutting.

Following graduation, Stephen returned to Milbank and started work at Ol’ Mill Meats as a skilled meat cutter. He also worked in the meat departments at Beren’s Market and at Hartman’s Family Foods. He often had people come in and ask specifically for his assistance with the meat products they requested. Most recently, Stephen worked as a vat operator at Valley Queen Cheese Factory for 22 years.

In his recreational time, Stephen enjoyed card games of any kind, especially Pinochle and Poker. Stephen also enjoyed the outdoors with fishing and deer hunting. He was an avid bow hunter and was a member of the Archery Club. Stephen was a competitive player of darts, bowling, and in a good season of fantasy football. He was also a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Amy (Jack) DeWitt of North Branch, MN; son, Zach Cramer (fiancé, Emily Dornbusch) of Milbank, SD; granddaughter, Allison DeWitt; parents, Larry (Della) Cramer of Milbank, SD; sister, Sandy (John) Pahl of Milbank, SD; brother, Dale (Pam) Cramer of Redwood Falls, MN; along with nephew, Tyler (Skye) Pahl.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mykayla Cramer; grandson, Jack DeWitt III; paternal grandparents; and maternal grandparents.
