Stacy Ellen Keith was born on December 22, 1970, at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Milbank, SD, to Michael Keith and Renae (Trapp) Wick. She lived a life marked by resilience, faith, and quiet strength. From an early age, Stacy faced a life-long muscular disorder, a challenge she carried with grace, courage, and determination. While her journey was not always easy, she met each day with perseverance and an unwavering spirit that inspired all who knew her.

Baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD, Stacy’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She held a deep and abiding trust in God. Through worship, service, and fellowship, Stacy lived her faith not only in words, but through kindness, compassion, and love for others.

Stacy grew up in the country and cared for animals of all kinds, especially cats, dogs, and horses. She rescued many of her cats from no-kill shelters. Stacy attended school in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School with the Class of 1989.

Finding great enjoyment in crafting of many kinds, Stacy enjoyed sewing, wood burning, drawing, and painting. She was also passionate of about reading, music, theatre, sporting events, and rocket launches. Stacy deeply appreciated with simple, yet amazing things in life: sunsets, quiet moments, and bird-watching from her window.

With a flair for entertainment, Stacy loved spending time with her family doing puzzles, playing cards, playing board games, as well as treating everyone to her recently acquired mixology skills. Much of her time was spent in the kitchen with her mom, baking cookies and other sweet treats. Stacy enjoyed cooking new dishes along with many beloved family favorites.

Stacy was a funny, creative spirit and believed strongly in equality for all. She was incredibly supportive of her family’s endeavors and took great pride in each of them. Stacy loved her niece and nephews whole-heartedly and enjoyed watching them grow. She was a deeply thoughtful aunt who loved each of them for their uniqueness. Stacy also enjoyed helping with events at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, especially holiday cookie-baking, where she would help make and decorate hundreds of cookies alongside fellow church members.

Stacy is lovingly survived by her father, Michael Keith (close friend, Julie Erickson); her mother and step-father, Renae and Dennis Wick; brother, Bary (Tricia) Keith; nephews: Brady Keith, and Brandon Keith (close friend, Deja Perry); niece, Trista Keith (fiancé, Logan Nagel); step-sisters: Laura (Richard Herren), and Amy Wick (Brian Demchak); and step-nephews: Sean Demchak, and Dakota Herren, who will forever cherish her strength, faith, and the example she set.

She is now at peace and reunited with her grandparents, Myron and Lorraine Schnaser; and Dale and Sylva Trapp.

Stacy will be remembered for her compassionate nature, youthful spirit, steadfast faith, generosity, and for the way she made people feel seen and care for. Whether through prayer, laughter, conversation, or quiet presence, she had a gift for bringing comfort and light to those around her.

Though her family mourns her passing, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and give thanks for a woman whose faith never faltered and whose love will remain with them always.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of choice in Stacy’s name.
