Shirley Lynne

Shirley Lynne, 79, of Ortonville died at her home on April 4, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. David Tonn officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Lynne was born on January 11, 1938, in Clarkfield, Minnesota to Conrad and Amanda (Gringer) Cornelius. Following her high school graduation, Shirley attended and graduated from St. Cloud University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. On December 6, 1958, Shirley was united in marriage with Stanley Edward Lynne. They were blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Denise. In 1960 they moved to Ortonville to teach and made the community their home.

Shirley was a member of First English Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. In her free time she enjoyed watching any sports team from Minnesota, playing Bridge and having a cup of coffee with friends. Shirley was also an announcer at the Ortonville High School sporting events.

Left with her loving memory is her husband, Stan, of Ortonville; daughters: Debbie (Rick) Taylor of Sheldon, ND, and Denise (Chip) Richards of Andover, MN; grandchildren: Amy Chamberlin, Derrick (Jill) Taylor, Brittany (Travis) Taylor, McKenzie (Tyler) Taylor, Cameron Richards, and Blair Richards; great-grandchildren: Aiden, Eve, and Archer Chaberlin, and Weston Jacobson; brothers: Allen (Ramona) Cornelius, Gaylen (Elaine) Cornelius, and Dony (Delores) Cornelius; and sister, Darleen (Reuben) Sather.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Cliton(Elanor) Cornelius.
