Sharon Campbell

Sharon Yvonne Davies Campbell was born on October 12, 1938, in Crosby, ND. She was the daughter of Chauncy Justus Davies and Hazel Fern (McKinney) Davies. She attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, where she literally ran into her future husband Gerald…while involved in a fender bender. Mom and Dad lived in Box Elder, Belle Fourche, Edgemont, Northville, (all SD) New Castle, WY, back to Hot Springs, SD, and finally settled in Milbank.  

Sharon held many positions, starting with bookkeeper and office administrator at the Don Pratt Nursing Home in Belle Fourche, SD. From there, she and her husband, Jerry, started working together. He fixed appliances, and she kept the books and ran the stores they worked for or owned. When they settled in Hot Springs, she took a job working for the State of South Dakota as the office administrator for Social Services. She worked there until her retirement. During their later years, they moved to Milbank to be closer to their sons. She was a member of the Lutheran faith.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Gerald Wallace Campbell; her children: Curtis Jerald Campbell and his son, Curtis Jerald (CJ) Campbell; Brenda Rene (Campbell) Huckle, her husband Reid, and sons: Christopher and Michael; Cris Kelly Campbell, his wife LeAnne, and their children: William and Kate; Angel Rose Wiconi Campbell and her children: Harmony, Kateri, Koda and Grace; two great-grandchildren: Daniel and Autumn Huckle; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Chauncy Justus Davies and Hazel Fern McKinney Davies; her sisters: Lois (Davies) Elsburn, Elizabeth “Betty” (Davies) Trumbo, Luella (Davies) Thompson, and her daughter-in-law, Becky (Mors) Campbell.
