Ronald "Ronnie" Vold

Ronald “Ronnie” Vold, age 77, of Dumont, MN, died on December 14, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Graceville with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Graceville Consolidated Cemetery.

Ronald Lowell Vold was born on September 14, 1942, in Graceville, MN, to Lowell and LaVerna (Sager) Vold. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Graceville. Ronnie attended school in the Graceville area and graduated from high school in 1960. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1963.

On October 26, 1968, Ronnie was united in marriage with Karen Sue Mollenhauer in Newton, IA. To this union, two children were born. The family lived on a farm in the Dumont/Graceville area. Ronnie farmed for himself and in later years, helped work the land and did some construction with the family members who rented the farm land from him.

He was very active in the Dumont and Graceville communities: serving on the Township Board, Watershed Board, Gun Club, and the American Legion. Ronnie was also active in the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Board.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Karen Vold of Dumont, MN; his children: Brian Vold of Dyersville, IA; and Brenda Robertson of Yakima, WA; grandchildren: Jacob Vold of Dubuque, IA; Amanda Vold of Hudson, NY; and Michael Barry of Yakima, WA; sister, JoAnn (Douglas) Ringger of Newton, IA; and his many dear friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.
