Randy Wendland

Randy Wendland, age 62, of Milbank, SD, passed away on January 25, 2024, in Milbank.

 A graveside service will be held on August 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Milbank City Cemetery. 

Randy James Wendland was born on November 2, 1961, in Milbank, Grant County, SD. He was the son of Milo and Doris (Morton) Wendland. He attended Melrose #6 Country School until it closed. He then attended school in Corona, SD, graduating from Corona High School with the Class of 1981. 

Randy lived most of his life in the Milbank area. He worked for local farmers milking cows, planting crops, doing field work, making hay, hauling grain, and anything needed. His love for driving a semi-truck led him to many jobs including working at Georgia Ports Authority in Savannah, GA. He hauled asphalt and gravel in Browns Valley, MN, and worked at Bituminous Paving, Inc. for ten years. 

Randy attended Countryside Covenant Church in LaBolt, SD. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, music, fishing, and visiting with family and friends. His friends and family were most important to Randy. 

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Monica (David) Buri of Nemo, SD; brothers: Terry Wendland of Savannah, GA; Rodney (Debb) Wendland of Brookings, SD; Timothy (Sheryl) Wendland of Parker, CO; Michael (Anita) Wendland of Milbank, SD; Joel (Tanda) Wendland of Payette, ID; and John (Linda) Wendland of Redding, CA; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephew, cousins and special friend, Judi Lundin. 

Randy was preceded in death by his parents: Milo and Doris (Morton) Wendland.
