Inurnment of the cremains of Pearl Gaddis will be held 12:00 (noon) on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Recaboth Cemetery, near Albee, SD. A reception will follow at the Revillo Community Center.

Pearl Jeanette Harstad Gaddis, age 90, passed away, peacefully on April 24, 2013 at Country Villa Bay Vista Nursing Home in Long Beach, California.

She was born on August 14, 1922 in Marietta, Minnesota to Benjamin and Johanna Harstad. She grew up in Revillo, South Dakota and graduated from Revillo High School in 1939. During high school she had a wonderful voice coach and upon graduation she received two scholarships, one for music and one for Beauty School. Her angelic singing voice was very much in demand. Whenever a singing occasion arose, Pearl was the person whom they wanted to sing at their function. After high school, Pearl graduated from beauty school and practiced her craft in Madison, Minnesota.

At the beginning of WWII Pearl and three of her girlfriends moved to Los Angeles, California to seek new horizons. Pearl worked in the aircraft industry in Southern California. Los Angeles is where Pearl met her husband, Carl Gaddis. She and Carl were married on August 24, 1945 and were divorced 25 years later. They raised three children, Douglas Keith Gaddis, Evan Ray Gaddis and Cheryl Wynne Carron. Pearl had seven grandchildren. They are Alexander Gaddis, Allison Rockwell, Justin Gaddis, Brent Gaddis, Renee Wentz, Denise Carron and Stephanie Carron. Pearl also had seventeen great grandchildren.

After retiring from Douglas aircraft, she moved to Santee, California to be near her children and grandchildren. Pearl's family was the love of her life. Pearl also enjoyed traveling with her friends and family and enjoyed a variety of trips internationally and all over the states. She loved to return to Revillo, as often as possible, to be with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

A beautiful flower was plucked out of this earthly bouquet when Pearl left us. Her final resting place will be in Revillo, South Dakota.
