Patricia Ann (Oman) Steen was born April 4, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Cecil and Olga Oman. She was baptized July 16, 1935 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi, MN and confirmed May 28, 1950 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar, MN. Patti graduated from Willmar High School in 1953 and attended the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities).

Patti's life was centered on service to others. She worked for several years as an x-ray technician at the Oliver Clinic in Graceville, MN. During that time, she began attending Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN where she remained a very active leader throughout most of her life. She shared her musical and artistic gifts at church in many ways – serving as a church organist for over 25 years, participating in senior choir and as a soloist, constructing decorative banners for the sanctuary, teaching vacation bible school, and directing the junior choir and ladies chorus. She also served two terms on church council and actively participated in the church women's organization.

While attending Trinity, she met Sevrin Steen of Clinton, MN. They were married at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar, MN on February 15, 1958. They remained in Clinton and had two sons Paul in 1965 and James in 1968. Patti was an attentive and active mom, attending sporting events, leading cub scouts, and preparing the family for fishing, skiing, or other outings. She continued to be involved in the community of Clinton – serving as county chairperson for the Red Cross Bloodmobile , member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a founding member of the Clinton Women's Civic Club. She also served on the Clinton State Bank board, and supported various charitable organizations advocating health, sustainability, and wildlife. If there was something to get done, Patti was someone who just did it!

Patti also enjoyed learning about the world around her. Many of you will remember Patti as an avid reader. She always carried a book, and was ready to recommend a reading list to anyone who wanted one. Whether it was a thriller, biography, western, or one of the classics (it didn't really matter) reading was a passion! Later in life, she and Sevrin travelled throughout the world, visiting dozens of countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa on cruises and tours. She also enjoyed their winter home in Peoria, AZ and spent time entertaining friends and family. Throughout her life, she loved playing and talking with children – and she especially liked spending time with her grandchildren – picking oranges, identifying plants and birds, and telling stories. In 2009, she entered the Peoria Star Care Home owned by Monica Bauer – who became a close friend and caregiver in her last years. She passed away peacefully at the care home on September 2, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Olga Oman.

Patti is survived by husband Sevrin Steen of Clinton, MN; two children: Paul (Melissa) Steen of Edina, MN; and James Steen of Fargo, ND; two brothers: Dr. Robert (Pam) Oman of Barron, WI; and Gary Oman of Spicer, MN; and two grandchildren: Maya and Bennett Steen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
