Norbert Buller

Norbert Leo Buller, age 82, of Graceville died on June 5, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Visitation will be held at the Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Graceville on Sunday, June 9, from 5 – 7 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m. Father David Breu will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Kehoe, Chuck Bauer, Steve Wiegman, Cory Wiegman, Vince Powlish, and Vern Powlish. Honorary bearers will be Norbert's grandchildren.

Norbert L. Buller was born in Alexandria, Nebraska on December 3, 1930 to Lawrence and Thresea (Nun) Buller. They lived in Nebraska until Norbert was 11 years old at which time the family moved to Graceville. Norbert graduated from St. Mary's High School. He served in the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army from 1952-1953. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home to farm, raising grain and livestock.

On June 11, 1955, Norbert and Margaret "Jean" were united in marriage. They made their home on the Buller family farm. Norbert and Jean were blessed with five children. Although Norbert retired when he was 65 years old, he continued to help his sons on the farm until the autumn of 2012.

Norbert was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he once served on the parish council. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and had been a past Grand Knight. He was a member of the American Legion where he participated on the drill squad and had served as Commander. Norbert had also served on the cemetery board and the hospital board.

In his free time, Norbert enjoyed mowing, working in the hog barn, trips in the "Winnie", ice fishing, and family trips. Most important to Norbert was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Norbert died on June 5, 2013, in Graceville, Minnesota, having reached the age of 82.

Cherishing his memory are his wife, Jean, of Graceville; his daughters: Charleen (Steve) West of Menahga, MN; Linda (Randy) Gauger of Australia; and Diane (Dave) Vogt of Chokio, MN; his sons: Neal (Mary) Buller and Alan (Carol) Buller, both of Graceville; his grandchildren: Jodie (Jon) Bourgerie, Leah (Matt) Krause, Sarah (Emmett) Penke, Nick Gauger, Chelsea (Chris) Hauschild, Lucas Buller, Tyler Buller, Rebecca Vogt (fiance Brad Krause), Kayla (Mike) Hiedeman, and Nathan Vogt; his great grandchildren: Eadaoin and Aleck Bourgerie; Caitlin, Emma, and Sean Krause; Rosalie, Hannah, and Amelia Penke; Kaylee Hauschild; and Liam Hiedeman; and his brother: Hugh (Carol) Buller of Lake Benton, MN.

Norbert was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Matt Gauger.
