Big Stone City

Mary L. Peschong, age 74, longtime resident of Big Stone City, SD, died on September 27, 2018 at the Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Big Stone City, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Padre David Garza will celebrate the Mass and interment will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.

Mary Louise Peschong was born in Milbank, SD, on September 9, 1944, to Kenneth and Anna Mae (Lamberson) Peschong. She grew up and attended school in Big Stone City, SD. She graduated from the Big Stone City High School with the Class of 1964.  She worked for both the canning factory and cheese factory, as well as, Morris Rod Weeder Industries in Ortonville.

Mary was known for her large flower and vegetable garden. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed animals, especially her cats.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory is her sister, Margaret Lindquist of St. Paul Park, MN; niece, Julie (Steve) Grafnitz of Big Lake, MN; nephew, Todd Lindquist of St. Paul Park, MN; great-niece, Emma Grafnitz; and great-nephews: Ethan and Elliott Grafnitz.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
