Mary Dietz

March 20, 1922 — August 14, 2005

Mary Jane (Muller) Dietz was born on March 20, 1922, to parents, Michael and Ann (Kern) Muller in Minneota, MN. As a young girl, she attended country school and graduated from Graceville High School. Following graduation, Mary moved to the White Bear Lake area where she worked for a telephone company , replacing dials; and she also worked in an air plane manufacturing plant to help during World War II. At the conclusion of the War, she returned to Graceville, where she met and married Joseph Dietz on July 10, 1948. To this union one child was born, Joseph Dietz Jr. The family made their home on a farm north of Graceville, where Mary lived until her death.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed to cook, and treasured the time she spent with her grandson Andrew, showing him all her secret recipes. There were a lot of hired hands that also benefited from Mary's love of cooking. Mary also enjoyed playing cards with the ladies group and cherished the time she spent visiting with family and friends. Mary loved to be informed and took pleasure in reading the newspaper, books, magazines and watching the T.V. One of Mary's favorite shows was the "Young and the Restless," which she watched every day at 11:00. This was her time and she didn't like to be bothered. Mary also loved collecting recipes. Mary truly loved her family and will be missed greatly by those who loved her most.
