Marlene Reil

Marlene Alma Reil, age 89, of Corona, SD, died peacefully at her home on November 23, 2018. A private graveside service will be held.

Marlene was born to August and Alma Steinberg on June 22, 1929, in Roberts County, SD. She attended Summit High School and later taught country school in Geneseo township. On December 24, 1948, she married Jim Reil and spent the next years farming and raising her five children.

In the later years of her life, Marlene was a cook at the Milbank School System, where she really enjoyed her daily interactions with the children. After she retired, she loved living in the country and being with her animals.

Marlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and her faith meant a great deal to her.

Marlene is survived by her daughters: Korinne (Reiffenberger) of Brandon, SD; Barbara (Iverson) of Big Stone City, SD; Joel of Rapid City, SD; and Jess of Corona, SD; two siblings: Sallie Settje of Corona, SD; and Gene Steinberg of Missouri; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother and sister; and her daughter, Elaine.
