Marian Storm

Marian Storm, age 95, of Milbank, SD, passed away on August 21, 2019, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron, SD.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Rev. Thom Bowsher will officiate, and burial will take place at Milbank Cemetery.

Marian Angeline (Thiele) Storm was born on June 6, 1924, in Twin Brooks, SD, to Otto and Mary (Bohn) Thiele. She attended country school and graduated from Milbank High School. In 1945, Marian was united in marriage with Walter Storm, who passed away in 1976.

After raising her family, Marian went to work at Maynes Hardware and worked several years at Beren's Grocery Store in their meat department. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. She enjoyed assisting with the church newsletter and helping wherever she could.

Marian loved to bake and share her goodies. She also loved flowers and gardening. Marian was an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing many items for friends and family. She also enjoyed time spent with her friends playing cards and traveling to Huron to visit family, especially her grandchildren. Her travel partner was her faithful dog, Lexie.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Joyce Watkins of Huron, SD; son, Warren (Ellen) Storm of Huron, SD; five grandchildren: Jodi (Todd) Even, Christina (Dan) Jackson, Philip (Rebekah) Storm, Christopher (Monica) Storm, and Angela Storm; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Beverly Seide of Eugene, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sister, Irene Reece; and brothers: Melvin Thiele, Eldred Thiele, and Elton Thiele.
