Marcia "Marcy" Miller, age 82, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Pastor Albert Meier will officiate, and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Goodwin Cemetery near Goodwin, SD.

Marcia “Marcy” Roylene Redlin was born on November 25, 1942, at Bartron Hospital in Watertown, SD, to Royal and Elvina (Hogie) Redlin. She was baptized and later confirmed at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. The family lived on a farm northeast of Henry, SD. Marcy attended school at North Graceland #30 through the eighth grade and went to Henry High School graduating with the class of 1960. Marcy began working at Midland National Life Insurance Co. in Watertown on June 1, 1960, where she was employed for ten years.
Marcy married Richard Miller on June 27, 1964, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. The couple resided in Watertown they were blessed with two children: Lori in 1967 and Scott in 1970. Marcy quit work at the insurance company to be a stay-at-home mom and later became employed as a daycare provider. The family moved to Milbank in August 1974, where she continued the daycare work until retiring in 2008. Later she became a substitute in the Milbank school district, mostly in the special education area, which she totally enjoyed.
In May of 2015, she started doing proofreading for the Grant County Review in Milbank. Marcy was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Milbank where she served as a Sunday School teacher and member of the Ladies Aid where she served in several offices. Marcy enjoyed being in the kitchen baking, (especially with granddaughter, Jenna) cooking and canning produce from her husband’s garden. She shared many baked treats with church members for Sunday coffee after services. Marcy did a lot of sewing for herself and her family. She was a former member of Excelsior Study Club in Milbank. She was also a member of TOPS club for many years serving in several offices. She spent lots of time at Unity fitness center. She enjoyed activities her grandchildren were part of. Marcy loved time with her family. She also enjoyed fishing with Richard, and even caught a Proud Angler walleye.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Miller of Milbank, SD; children: Lori (Ted) Ortale of Las Vegas, NV; Scott (Julie) Miller of Sioux Falls, SD; beloved grandchildren: Jacob Ortale; Zachary Ortale; Christopher (Kendra) Miller; Jenna Miller; Zachery (J.B.) Boscardin; Katherine “Katie” Miller; and two great-grandsons: Isaiah Miller, and on-the-way, Micah Miller; brothers-in-law: Merle Miller of Rapid City, SD and Robert (Kay) Miller of Mitchell, SD; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Miller of Estelline, SD; and Mary Redlin of Watertown, SD.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Royal and Elvina Redlin; siblings: Larry Redlin and Cheryl Howard; brother in infancy, Gayle Roger Redlin; sisters-in-law: Vivian Miller; Myona Thompson; Beverly Miller; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller.
