Mable Popham

Mable Ann (Saathoff) Popham was born on July 25,1937 on the family farm between Bruce and Estelline, SD, to Class and Vera (Wattawa) Slathoff. She grew up near Dempster, SD and attended country school through the 8^th grade.

At the age of 17, she married Donald Pierce, the couple made their home near Brookings, SD. In 1964, she married Keith Popham. While married to Keith, they lived in various locations, finally settling in Milbank, SD. Keith passed away in 2005.  Mabel worked at Saputo Cheese Factory in Big Stone City, SD until her retirement. She was greatly loved by her dear friend, Connie Brotzel.

Left to cherish Mable’s memory are her sisters: Delores Begalka of Estelline, SD; and Myrtle Harvey of White, SD; dear friend, Connie Brotzel of Summit, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
