Lucinda Bertha (Ochs) Armitage was born on September 25, 1938, in Canby, MN, to Alfred and Bernice (Meyer) Ochs. She was raised in a close-knit community in Canby and attended local schools, graduating from Canby High School.
In the late 1960s, Lucy and her family made the significant move to Milbank, SD, where she contributed her talents in office work at Milbank Insurance and State Auto Insurance. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her church, Central Church in Milbank, where she was an active member, contributing to her community and inspiring those around her.
Lucy’s creative spirit shone through her passion for crafts, card making, and scrapbooking. She found joy in gardening and nurturing flowers, which reflected her vibrant personality and love for nature.
Left to cherish Lucy’s memory are her son-in-law, Randy Nystrom; granddaughter, Claire Nystrom; grandson, Andrew Nystrom; her very good friend, Linda Conrad; along with many other friends and neighbors.
Preceding her in death were her daughters: Cherilyn Armitage in 1978; and Lorene Nystrom in 2021; her parents; and brother, Eugene Ochs in infancy.
