Lucille Townsend

Lucille R. Townsend, age 70, formerly of the Ortonville and Odessa area, passed away November 18, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11AM at Abiding Faith Free Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor Richard Larson will officiate and interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Odessa, MN.

Lucille Ruby (Baker) Townsend was born November 27, 1947, in Watertown, SD, to Melvin and Irene (Paulson) Baker. She grew up in Odessa and St. Paul, MN. She attended school for Mechanic Arts in St. Paul. She married Myron Townsend in Watertown, SD and they were blessed with six children.

She loved gambling and trips to the casino. She also loved BBQs, playing Skipbo and cards, dancing, and spending time with her family.

Lucille is survived by her children: Roy (Joan) Townsend of Ortonville, MN, Wayne Townsend of Ortonville, MN, Jerry Onken of Onamia, MN, Jay (Danett) Manders of Cambridge, MN, Eric Onken of Onamia, MN, and Lauren Jensen of Isanti, MN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lobbins of Ortonville, MN, and Marion Westlund of Clinton, MN; brothers, Lloyd (Carol) Baker of Ortonville, MN, and Melvin Baker of Ortonville, MN; numerous nieces & nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents: Melvin and Irene Baker; husband, Myron Townsend; brother, Donald (Marcella) Baker; sister, Roseanne Baker; brothers-in-law, Elloid Lobbins and Ray Westlund; along with other nieces & nephews.
