Lucille Stolpman

February 29, 1924 — April 29, 2017

Lucille M. Stolpman, 93, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2017, in Kerrville, Texas.

Funeral services were held Monday evening, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Chapel in Kerrville, where many friends and family gathered to celebrate her life.

Burial will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville, Minnesota at noon with Father Brian Oestreich presiding over the committal.

Lucille was born on Feb. 29, 1924, in Milbank, SD to the late Agnes (Peschong) and Joseph Loehrer. Lucille was born into a large family, including siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. She attended and received a degree in nursing from Presentation College, in Aberdeen, SD. Lucille was a part of the World War II US Army Cadet Nurses Corp. She was proud to be a Registered Nurse taking care of others. She worked in hospitals in Milwaukee, WI, St. Paul, MN, Fargo, ND and Clinton, IA.

Lucille married the love of her life, Urban T. Stolpman, on July 14, 1948, in Rosen, MN. They lived most of their married life in Ortonville, MN, moving to Kerrville in 2014. The couple owned a Drive-In Movie Theater from 1950-1955 in Big Stone City, SD.

Lucille dedicated her life to the care of her three sons - Todd, Rick and David. She spent every day making sure their needs were met, especially David since he was disabled since birth. Fifteen years ago, Lucille welcomed Terry into the family like a son. The love she showed them and the rest of her family was above and beyond anything one could ask for.

In Lucille's spare time, she loved to hunt for fossils and travel the country. She was also involved in her sons' ministries at Thunder in the Hill and First Baptist Church.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Stolpman; and seven of her siblings.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 68 years, Urban T. Stolpman, of Kerrville; sons, Todd Stolpman and wife Monique of Eagan, MN; Rick Stolpman of Kerrville, TX; and Terry Gee of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Drew, Alexa, and Jack. She will be loved and missed by many other family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Alzheimer Organization (www.alz.org).
