Lorraine Alice Peickert

Lorraine A. Peickert, age 100, of Browns Valley, MN, passed away on May 7, 2023, in Browns Valley.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. Rev. Nathanael Biberdorf will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Hall in Browns Valley.

Music will be provided by Ginny Westbrock; Jan LeClair and Jill Spindler, vocalists. The urn bearer will be David Peickert.

Lorraine Alice Peickert was born on October 13, 1922, in a farm house in New Effington, SD. She was one of three children born to Ernest and Olga (Greenland) Kjellerup.

Lorraine was united in marriage with Garmen Peickert on October 15, 1942. They were blessed with three sons: Lanny, Greg, and Steven.

Lorraine and Garmen raised their family in the Browns Valley area and were blessed with 51 years of marriage. She worked for Haugland’s Clothing Store. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Lanny (Barb) Peickert of Hayward, WI; and Steven (Roxanne) Peickert of Champlin, MN; six grandchildren: David (Sarah) Peickert; Ann Peterson; Ross (Corinne) Peickert; Ryan (Jen) Peickert; Lisa (Doug) Sander; and Amy (Randy) Nelson; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Olga; her husband, Garmen; son, Greg; granddaughter, Aliece Marie “Sissy”; and siblings: Leo and Marion.
