On September 4, 1960, Lois married Valerius “Val” Roggenbuck. The couple initially lived in San Pedro, California, while Val served in the military, before settling in Milbank, South Dakota, for three years. They were blessed with two sons, Steven and Kevin. After living briefly in rural Madison, the family moved to rural Odessa, where they spent twelve years. In 1975, they relocated to a farm near Rosen, where Lois managed the dairy farm, milking cows while raising their children. In 2023, Lois and Val moved from their farm to Fairway View in Ortonville.
