Lois Knopf

Lois Louise Knopf, age 86, resident of Ortonville, died on January 7, 2017, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev. David Tonn will officiate. Urn bearer will be Jordan Wohlhuter and burial will take place in Mound Cemetery.

Lois Louise Martinson was born on January 10, 1930, in Ortonville, Minnesota, to Edward and Laura (Block) Martinson. She was raised in Ortonville and graduated from Ortonville High School with the class of 1948. On June 20, 1948, Lois was united in marriage to Marvin Allan Knopf at First English Lutheran Church.

Marvin and Lois spent the majority of their married life in Stillwater, Minnesota. The couple also loved spending time at their cabin on Big Stone Lake near Ortonville. Lois and Marvin moved back to Ortonville and eventually sold their cabin. They lived in Ortonville for over 20 years. Lois was a well-known member of the Ortonville community and was famous for her: fleece blankets, homemade meatballs, potato salad and chocolate chip cookies! She was also an active member with First English Lutheran Church. She could often times be seen tending to her flowers or cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, proudly wearing her favorite Vikings sweatshirt!

Left with her loving memory are her daughters: Cindy (Ross) Wohlhuter of Fairmont, MN, and Pam (Stephen) Johnson, of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren: Jon (Alison) Wohlhuter, Emily (Ryan) Fett, Jordan (Laura Katherine) Wohlhuter, Lori (Chris) Rux, Abby (Ryan) Knopf, Andy (Brooke) Knopf, and Kaytie Knopf; great-grandchildren: Caleb Wessal, Tarina Rux, Morgan Knopf, Ethan Wohlhuter, Ellis Wohlhuter, Emmet Wohlhuter, Jenna and Aden Fett; brothers, Stan (Agnes) Martinson, Roger Martinson; along with numerous extended family members and many friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura; husband, Marvin; three sons: William Todd, Allan Charles, and Marvin Carter; grandson, Wade Wohlhuter; and brother, Jim Martinson.
