Lillian Ingeborg Arndt was born on July 21, 1934, in Mountrail County, ND, near rural Beldon. She was the oldest of ten children born to Carl and Marie (Borreson) Arndt. She attended country school in the area through the eighth grade.

Following her education, she married Julian Klevenberg on January 21, 1951, and together they were blessed with two children, Kenneth “Kenny” and Katherine “Kathy”.

On June 1, 1963, Lillian married Aldrich “Rasty” Gunderson in Corinth, ND. The couple lived on a farm near Wildrose, ND, for 25 years. During that time, Lillian worked at the Wildrose City Meat Locker and later at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Crosby, ND. For many years while living on the farm, she sold needlework for Creative Circle and Mary Kay products. Aldrich passed away in 1988.

On June 23, 1999, Lillian married Stefan “Steve” Jastrzebski. They made their home in Crosby, ND, for many years and later had the intentions of spending the winter months in Minnesota. After a brief return to Crosby, they realized how much they missed Minnesota and remained until Steve’s passing in 2019. In 2024, she followed her daughter, Kathy, to Milbank, SD, where she lived for the past couple years.

Lillian enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and she loved working on puzzles, word searches, and playing Three-Handed Whist. She also loved baking Norwegian treats such as krumkake, pizzelle, and almond cakes, as well as donuts, which she sold at craft sales for many years.

Lillian was previously a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, ND, and most recently a member of American Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD.

She is survived by her children: Kathy (John) Konstant of Milbank, SD; Kenny Gunderson of Williston, ND; sisters: Esther Maki of Renton, WA; Doris (Jim) Walter of Fargo, ND; Caroline Sadle of Omaha, NE; and Laura Erber of Kent, WA; grandchildren: Cade (Jeriann) Carvell, Shane (Stacey) Carvell, and Patrick (Allyson) Carvell; great-grandchildren: Abby, Katelyn, Christopher, Annika, Aliza, Caelen, William, and Lochlen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Marie Arndt; late husbands: Aldrich Gunderson and Stefan “Steve” Jastrzebski; siblings: Charles Arndt, Richard Arndt, Marily Bryant, Angeline Maki, Gloria Worley; daughter-in-law, Tammy Gunderson; and former husband, Julian Klevenberg.
