Laura Camp, 64, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Avantara in Milbank.

Laura's wishes were that there be no formal services.

Laura Anne Camp was born on February 11, 1960, to Byron and Rosemary (Rispoli) Camp in San Pedro, California. Laura grew up in several locations as the family moved frequently while Byron served in the United States Navy. She cherished memories of fishing with her dad.


Laura worked various jobs throughout her life, her favorites being landscaping, truck driving, and helping on a farm working with and training horses. She also had her own landscaping business for three years. Laura met Kathy Foster in 1985 through mutual friends. Though they spent many years together, they were married on June 28, 2018. Laura and Kathy first moved to Milbank in 2018, Slayton, MN, in 2019, then to Pipestone, MN in 2020. She moved back to Milbank in the Summer of 2021.


Laura enjoyed art and had a keen talent of drawing pictures. She also enjoyed writing poetry and even had one of her poems, “Our Hero, Our Protector” published. She loved animals and had a marvelous connection with dogs. She enjoyed listening to Christian music. She loved playing nickel and dime poker at her parents’ home in Florida. She loved a good game of Blackjack with her dad as the dealer. Laura’s family was very important to her, and she treasured moments spent with them.


Laura will be forever loved and deeply missed by her wife, Kathy Camp of Milbank, SD; children: Anthony (Britney) Camp of FL; Kimberly (Zachary) Carpenter of Fairbanks, AK; Stacy (Reuben) Pruitt of Kissimmee, FL; and Chad Foster of Kissimmee, FL; sister, Lynne Camp of Kissimmee, FL; brothers: Skip Camp of Bonita Springs, FL; Michael Camp (Nancy) of Kissimmee, FL; David (Michelle) Camp of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, eight grand-children, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Godmother and aunt, Angie, and 7 angel babies.
