Kimberly Remund was born on December 9, 1961, in Clear Lake, SD, to Norman and Rosa Lynne (Hines) Remund. She was baptized on March 11, 1962, and confirmed on April 13, 1977, at Wilmot Lutheran Church. Kim lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for helping others.
Kim grew up in Wilmot, SD, where she attended school and graduated in 1980. She earned high grades and actively participated in extracurricular activities, such as basketball, cheerleading, band, and chorus. Her favorite activity was socializing with friends, with many friendships lasting throughout her lifetime. After high school, she continued her education at Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD, studying legal secretarial work.
On September 4, 1982, Kim married Jerrold Biel at Wilmot Lutheran Church. Together, they were blessed with three daughters who remained the center of her life and her greatest pride. When Kim became a grandmother, she found her greatest joy. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was endlessly proud of them.
Kim had a remarkable gift for making things better than she found them, whether helping a person in need or creatively transforming a space with her hands. She excelled at home remodeling projects, painting, refinishing furniture, and tending her picturesque property, and she took great joy in creating warm, welcoming environments for others. Selfless and compassionate, Kim always put others first and would drop anything she was doing to help someone else.
She is survived by her daughters: Kelsie (Devin) Koskan of Sioux Falls, SD; Kylie (John) Meyen of Fountain Hills, AZ; and Katelyn (Austin) Krumm of Lake Benton, MN; her seven grandchildren: Kendyl Horan, Mason Meyen, Kenadie Meyen, Kensley Koskan, Kaia Meyen, Milo Koskan, and Crue Krumm; her siblings: Charles (Mary) Remund of Elkton, SD; Barb (Steve) Wetrosky of Brandon, SD; John (Missy) Remund of Wilmot, SD; and James (Natalie) Remund of Wilmot, SD; eleven nieces and nephews; step-mother, Linda Remund of Wilmot, SD; Kim’s special friend, Mike Pierce of Sioux Falls, SD; her “sister-cousin,” Lori Oey; and 24 beloved cousins.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents: Norman and Rosa Lynne Remund.
