Kenneth Louis Frost, son of Leonard Frost and Catherine (Baus), was born on June 28, 1943, in Bowdle, SD. He was raised in Hoven, SD, and attended St. Anthony’s Parochial School and Hoven High School where he excelled in athletics. Ken attended one year of trade school at State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, for Auto Mechanics. He married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mae Spindler, on April 4, 1964. Ken worked with his father at Frost Chevrolet for eight years. From 1971 to 1979, Ken worked for Donald Sevigny. Ken and his family moved to Milbank, SD, in 1979 to fulfill his dream of starting his own Surge milking business. He sold his milking business and worked as a state dairy milk inspector for 22 years, retiring in 2010.

Ken and Anna Mae enjoyed camping and made wonderful memories with friends, kids and grandkids. He was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, yet he never hesitated to make time for those he loved the most. Whether taking his children and grandchildren fishing, tubing, or camping, Ken was at his best when sharing the outdoors with his family. Ken adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed cheering his grandchildren on in all sorts of sports including motocross, football, cross country, basketball, track, and anything his grandchildren participated in.

When Anna Mae was stricken with a stroke, Ken held firm to his vows and was a stellar caretaker until her death in 2016.

Ken was a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church until he moved to Bethel Assisted Living Madison, SD, in 2024. In Madison, he attended Catholic Services at the nursing home which is connected to the assisted living.

Ken is survived by his five children: Mike Frost of Nassau, MN; Mark (Jessica) Frost of Big Stone City, SD; Steve Frost of Piedmont, SD; Nancy Kasuske of Wentworth, SD; and Neil (Darcy) Frost of Watertown, SD; nine grandchildren: Jesse (Erica) Frost, Jeremey Frost, Shayne Frost, Jordan Frost, Paige (Joey) Vanderpol, Carter (Amanda) Kasuske, Kyla (Cole) Leighton, Cole Frost, and Cori Frost; five great-grandchildren: Emmett, Nona, and Raymond Frost, Emerson Frost, and Aphaedra Kasuske; sister, JoAnn (Dennis) Auch of Menno, SD; sisters-in-law: Annette Frost of Hoven, SD; Carol Sebert of Mitchell, SD; Kathy (Rob) Anderson of Dakota Dunes, SD; and Cindy (Rick) Schaefer of Hoven, SD; brother-in-law, Jim (Mary) Spindler of Tolstoy, SD; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae; son-in-law, Corey Kasuske; parents: Leonard and Catherine Frost; father and mother-in-law: Henry and Ceil Spindler; and brothers: Darrell and Melvin.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be given to The Grant County Arc: Mary Munson, Treasurer, 906 South 7th Street, Milbank, SD 57252.
