Karen Sime

Karen Sime, age 77, of Revillo, SD, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.

Funeral services will be held at Mundwiler Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Rev. Clark Audiss will officiate the service and interment will be at Revillo City Cemetery.

Karen Eileen Sime was born on March 26, 1945, in Watertown, SD, to Arthur and Ina (Harkins) Amundson. The family lived in several places in southern Minnesota before moving to Revillo, SD. Karen attended her last couple years of high school in Revillo and graduated with the Class of 1963.

On November 6, 1964, Karen was united in marriage with Bruce Neal Sime. Together, they were blessed with two sons: Jeffrey and Trent. Karen was a dedicated farm wife, helping with farm work, keeping her home, and raising her boys. She also did odd jobs in the community such as sewing and mending garments.

Karen was a gifted seamstress, liked going shopping, loved rummage sales, and enjoyed going out to eat. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Karen was a huge supporter of the Watertown Salvation Army and the Revillo Fire Department.

Karen is survived by her sons: Jeffrey (Joan) Sime of Watertown, SD; and Trent Sime of Watertown, SD; grandsons: Tucker Sime and Carter Sime; step-grandchildren: MacKenzie (Brandon) Evjen and Hunter Skorczewski; and step-great-grandsons: Hudson and Holden Evjen; daughter-in-law, Gail Sime; along with many extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Bruce Sime in 2020; and sister, Janet Clark.
