Judith Elaine Wachter was born on August 20, 1942, to Edward and Gertrude (Zahn) Wachter in Ortonville, MN. She graduated as salutatorian from Big Stone City High School in 1960.

Primarily a stay at home mom, Judith was devoted to the care of her children. Her loving skills translated into a vocation, serving as a daycare provider in various communities for 25 years. Judith was an avid outdoors person and loved to hike, birdwatch, and tend to her flower gardens. She enjoyed impromptu travels, cooking, knitting, and shopping, where she was always able to find amazing deals! Fun-loving and active, Judith's first concert was at the age of 72 and she became a Brad Paisley groupie after that experience. Most recently, Judith had the pleasure of attending the Big Stone City All School Reunion, where she had the opportunity to see and make new memories with old friends and classmates.

Always putting others before herself, Judith was the ultimate caregiver. In addition to caring for her children, she was a devoted daughter to her mother. Her tender ways will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and many friends.

Judith is survived by her children: Marcy (Charles) Moe of Minneota, MN; Jordan Wachter of Ortonville, MN; Laurel Schake of Big Stone City, SD: and Lisa (Tony) Libby of Hanover, MN; nine grandchildren: Josh, Jeremiah, Jayleen, Jessy, Angelos, Tony, Mike, Amanda, and Sophie; three great-grandchildren: Devlin, Jaydon, and Dyllan; sister, Delores Nelson of Montevideo, MN; brother, Ken Wachter of Raymond, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
