Jody Christeson

Funeral services for Jody Christeson, age 54, of Clinton, MN, will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 2 p.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Reverend Richard Larson will officiate.

Jody Lee Christeson was born on May 10, 1958, in Spokane, WA, to Edward Lester and Leloni Lee (Haynes) Christeson. When Jody was one and a half years old, he moved with his family to Torrance, CA. He graduated form High School in Simi Valley CA.

Jody entered the Navy in 1977, serving his first enlistment in Vietnam, China and Japan and his second in the Mediterranean region. He was a cook and his military highlight was cooking a meal for the then President Ford. Following his discharge he lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas for a short time. Jody then moved to Los Angeles, working for a delivery service; back to Texas, doing carpentry work; spent some time in New Mexico; and then moved to Barry, MN and worked for Jay Ward Construction until he became ill. He lived his recent years with his father in Clinton.

Jody enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, and gardening. He was very artistic.

Jody passed away in his home on January 14, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He had reached the age of 54 years.

Jody is survived by his father, Ed (special friend, Arlene Bengen) of Clinton; his sisters: Lorane Seaman of Morris, MN, and Virginia Cathey of Toms River, NJ; his brother Rodger Arnold of Albuquerque, NM; and nieces and nephews.

Jody was preceded in death by his mother, Leloni, and his stepmother, Betty.
