George E. Humphrey

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. 

George Edmund Humphrey was born November 2, 1943, in Boise, Idaho.  He was the son of George and Doris (Sather) Humphrey.  The family moved to St. Paul, MN.  This is where George met and eventually married the love of his life, Bernice LoneTree. They were united in marriage on February 3, 1975, in St. Paul. 

George served his country at a young age in the Navy.  After his discharge from the Navy, he sought employment with B.N.R.R. (Burlington Northern Railroad) as a mechanic and worked for almost 41 years. George and Bernice moved to Big Stone City, SD in 2013, and have resided there since.

George was preceded in death by his parents: George Donald and Doris Katherine Sather, and his sole brother, Douglas Clayton Humphrey. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Bernice; two children: Mary and Charles; and four grandchildren; his sister, Christine (Bill Rutherford); niece, Jackie (Todd Bambenek); and their two children, and many relatives and friends.
