Gene Ray Jorgenson, age 62, of Graceville, MN, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at his home.

Memorial services for Gene will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, with a time of gathering from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Graceville, MN. A short prayer service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a time of food and fellowship immediately to follow at the Graceville Gun Club.

Gene Ray Jorgenson was born on August 26, 1961, in Ortonville, MN, to Henning and Gina (Simonson) Jorgenson. He grew up in rural Graceville, MN, and graduated from Graceville High School.

Gene spent most of his life on the farm outside of Graceville. He was involved with many types of livestock throughout his life, with horses being his priority. It was his passion for horses that led him to teach others how to handle, train, and break horses. Gene was willing to share his talent and wisdom with horses with anyone who wanted his assistance or advice. He traveled many miles to many states with horses and made so, so many friends. If anyone met Gene, they would not forget him.

Horses were not Gene’s only passion, he also loved dogs. If Gene went somewhere, his dog would be there too.

With his outgoing personality, Gene was a very compassionate son, brother, uncle, and friend. He absolutely adored children of all ages. At social gathering, Gene would often be seen on the floor or outside playing with the kids.

Just like a cowboy, Gene had a gift for storytelling and loved to travel whenever he had the opportunity. He was always willing to help anyone in need whatever the task may be. If someone called him and needed help, he would drop what he was doing to go see what he could do to aid. His kindness will certainly be missed by all.

Gene is survived by his five brothers: Gerhard Jorgenson of Deer Park, WA; Merrill (Vaunda) Jorgenson of Prior Lake, MN; Curtis Jorgenson of Clinton, MN; Myron (Marilyn) Jorgenson of Barnesville, MN; and Harlen (Cindy) Jorgenson of Ortonville, MN; 10 nieces; three nephews; two aunts; and his biological son who he recently met before his passing, Ben and his wife, Katrina, and their three children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henning and Gina Jorgenson; and his grandparents.
