Eileen Adolphson

June 7, 1929 — December 12, 2012

Funeral services for Eileen Adolphson, age 83, of Ortonville, Minnesota will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Marlene Elmstrom and David Tonn will officiate.

Eileen Thora was born on June 7, 1929, in rural Madison, Minnesota to Norman and Julia (Ronglien) Haukos. As the baby in a family of seven, her older sisters took a very active role in her upbringing. She was confirmed in the Holden Lutheran Church of Beardsley. Eileen attended several country schools in the Clinton and Ortonville area and also attended Ortonville High School.

On October 11, 1947, Eileen and Everett "Bud" Adolphson were united in marriage in the Eidskog Lutheran Church. To this union three children were born. In 1951, they chose the Ortonville community to be their home. She was employed two different times as the custodian of First English Lutheran Church and also was a much loved caretaker for many elderly people in Ortonville.

Eileen was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed Bible Studies and many lifelong friendships. She found pleasure in her yard and the flowers she grew. Eileen and her daughter also had a ceramic shop, named "The Pot Shop", which gave Eileen such joy! Most important, however, was the time Eileen spent with her family ~ she cherished being a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Her nieces and nephews, of all ages, were precious to her.

Eileen passed away on December 12, 2012, having reached the age of 83.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: David (Susan) Adolphson of Spartanburg, SC; and Lorrayne (Harvey) Swenson of Canby, MN; five grandchildren: Peter, Erik, and Matthew Adolphson; Natalie and Hillary Swenson; two great grandchildren: Olivia Lourdes Leon and Tzipporah Eileen Symone Swenson; one sister, Addie Hanson of Hudson, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Norman; her brothers: Bud Haukos, Gale Haukos, and Norris Haukos; and her sisters: Selma Ness and Norma Haukos.
