Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, from 3:00-4:00 pm at St. William's Care Center where his wife is a resident and from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mundwiler Funeral Home.

Edwin Joseph Reiners was born September 21, 1919, at Lennox, South Dakota, the son of John and Annie (Stoffers) Reiners. He grew up on a farm near Lennox and graduated from Lennox High School with the Class of 1937. He married Blanche Sturset on October 2, 1944, at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Lennox. They made their first home on a farm near Worthing where he was employed. Ed entered military service on March 22, 1945, and served in the US Army as a pressman in Zwingenberg, Germany. He was honorably discharged on September 24, 1946.

The couple moved to Twin Brooks, SD, in 1947, where Ed began a trucking business. He later worked for Bill Oestreich as a carpenter and went on to start his own construction business. Over his many working years, he worked independently and for Davenport Construction. In 1974, in addition to actively doing construction work, he and his sons purchased the lumber yard in Strandburg, SD. Ed continued to work along with his son, Roger, until he was well into his eighties.

Ed is survived by his wife Blanche; his three sons, Roger and his wife, Melanie, of Milbank; Darrell of Marysville, TN; and Robert and his wife, Colette, of Pierre, SD. Four grandchildren, Steven (Whitney) Reiners, of Knoxville, TN; Jennifer (Parker) Wainwright, North Richardson Hills, TX; Heidi Reiners and John Reiners of Pierre; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Dick, Henry, and John; one sister, Geneva; and four infant children who died at birth.

Blessed be the memory of Edwin Joseph Reiners.
