Donald J. Scharf

Donald J. Scharf, age 65 of Milbank, SD, passed away on December 1, 2024, at his residence.

 Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Donald Jay Scharf was born on January 7, 1959, in Aberdeen, SD. He was the son of Harold John Scharf Sr. and Doris Mae (Langholz) Scharf.

Don achieved a degree in Criminal Justice. He most recently was working as a truck driver, both over the road and delivery.

Don was a loving brother and uncle to his nieces and nephews. He had a special relationship with them, and they will miss the daily videos he would send. He especially enjoyed attending and following them in their activities and was their biggest supporter. He also was an avid sports fan, and he loved his dog, Buddy.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Doreen K. (Roger) Hanson of Brandon, SD; Butch (Kathy) Scharf of Watertown, SD; Lisa Swenson of Sioux Falls, SD; and Patrick (Kathryn) Scharf of Austin, TX; nieces and nephews: Matthew (Danica) Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD; Hope (Brian) Werlinger of Aberdeen, SD; Bailey Swenson (Lester Marks) of Sioux Falls, SD; Alysia (Matt) Juhl of Sherman, SD; Genna Tucker of Madison, SD; and Aaron Swenson of Sioux Falls, SD; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Doris; and his brother-in-law, Mark Swenson.
